It started with a simple observation: AI was changing everything — but not for everyone. The most powerful tools were expensive, complicated, or just not designed for how people in India actually live and work.
Three friends — a tech consultant, a designer-banker, and a sales veteran — sat around a table in Hyderabad and asked: what if we built AI products that a school teacher in Telangana, a chit fund operator in Kukatpally, or a small business owner in Dilsukhnagar could actually use and afford?
That question became Velvet Labs. No VC funding, no Silicon Valley polish — just a genuine belief that AI's biggest opportunity is in making everyday life easier for everyday people.
We build on WhatsApp because that's where India already is. We price for the real world. And we never stop asking: who does this actually serve?
